Sheikha Llena: A look into the band life of Lucid Moon lead singer

As it is the easiest platform to access for putting out ones expressions out there, music has evolved from being used for rituals to being a ritual itself for most people, but for the now successful band Lucid Moon’s lead singer Sheikha Llena, the art of music has taught her and the band, values and hardships of life through their journey as a team, lean how they manage the struggles to deliver their music.

Starting a band for Sheikha, never bothered the innate nature of their
individuality, for they can hone their own talents as one, but with the help of
each other they can exhibit and function more as a group.

When asked of why they’d thought of farming a band even though they can
excel individually, she answered, “Kasi alam naming mas marami kaming make- create na music and mas mae-express namin yung sari-sarili naming artistry kung magtutulungan kami.”

Just because they’re mostly students. doesn’t mean they can’t reach their full potential as a band, although it is a factor that slightly affects their performance of being active in the industry they still manage to thrive this form whilst having their own problems.

“Dahil marami kami, marami ring utak ang gumagana so maraming ideas and madalas nagtatalo talo pero nalulutas din naman.” she shares their fair share of them encountering problems and eventually solving them in time.

Another factor Sheikha has mentioned was their financial support.
Yes, there are studio music being made but as a band who’s still growing in the community, perks hasn’t quite reached to them yet.

Then again their music didn’t go unnoticed by the locals, thus the start of their Spotify account with approximately 2.3 thousand monthly listeners where they had already launched their first album containing two original compositions entitled, “Ang Labo Mo Naman” and “Dito Na Lang”.

Gratitude was always felt by them whenever fellow youth are inspired by them to start a music career as well.

“Actually unexpected yun. Pero syempre pinangarap namin yun para mol-
share namin yung music namin sa iba and to inspire bands din na nag-uumpisa pa lang. Especially yung mga bata na naghahangad magkabanda at passion talaga ang music.”

Also mentioning that their passion in music is another reason they are grateful and what kept them going on in life, knowing that whatever they do, they have the bond to each other.

Despite all the struggles they have had, these hardships have taught her and
the band how to value the importance of the career they chose to pursue
especially that it has moved them to manage the things they have around
them to their own success.
